Poetry dissolves foreign existences into itself.
~ Novalis [Blütenstaub, p. 49]
Pollen and Fragments is a series of collages that incorporates imagery from the Abushâdy Archive. It refers to Blütenstaub (Pollen), published in 1798, a philosophical work by the German Romantic poet Novalis consisting of texts that range from laconic to dream-like to mystical. Pollen and Fragments concerns itself with story-telling, poetry, history, art, science, and beekeeping. A short, creative non-fiction piece accompanied by images from the series will appear in Cultural Politics, Volume 16, Issue 1, March 2020.
